Many campuses and buildings are never designed with an eye to the time and money required to manage and maintain them. As a result, they can easily overwhelm the resources of the physical plant staff, negate the effectiveness of what otherwise might be an exemplary design and harm the school’s image by appearing unkempt and environmentally insensitive.
